The Taoist Temple in Cebu City

Built in 1972, the Cebu Taoist Temple is situated at Beverly Hills Subdivision, Cebu City. This temple was built by the Chinese community in Cebu comprising 15% of the city population. It has a nearby Phu Sian Temple but it is not open for public viewing. The temple is elevated over 300 meters above sea level and a good view of Mactan Cebu awaits for you at the top of the temple.Upon entering the temple you would be able to see the replica of the Great Wall of China and a giant dragon statue beside it. 
The temple is the center for Taoism, the religion which follows the teaching of Lao Tze. Some of the ritual that the devotees do every Wednesday is to climb the 81 steps that represents the 81 scripture of Taoism scripture. Visitors can enjoy the view if Cebu at the top and explore the different house of worship with different saints that the devotes offer thier prayers.
